Furniture Painting Made Easy Workshop Wednesday September 30
Furniture Painting Made Easy Workshop
About the workshop
A full-day, hands-on introduction to furniture painting, designed to give you a clear and confident foundation. The focus is on preparation, paint application and finishing techniques, all taught in a relaxed and welcoming atelier setting.
The workshop is limited to a maximum of four people, allowing plenty of time for individual guidance throughout the day.
Is this workshop for me?
This workshop is ideal for beginners, those new to furniture paint, or anyone who has already painted furniture but would like to improve their technique and achieve better results.
No previous experience is required.
What you’ll learn and leave with
• An introduction to the paint range and products used
• How to prepare furniture properly for painting
• How to deal with common issues such as bleed-through
• Painting techniques for a smooth, professional finish
• Simple distressing techniques for a softly aged look
• Dry brushing to add texture and depth
• How to seal and protect your finished piece
• Your own transformed piece of furniture and the confidence to continue at home
How the day runs
The day is structured step by step, with demonstrations followed by time to work on your own piece at a comfortable pace.
Everything is explained clearly, without jargon, and there is plenty of opportunity to ask questions. The atmosphere is relaxed and encouraging, with guidance throughout the day.
Choosing your furniture
Please bring one small piece of furniture, such as a bedside table, small stool or compact shelf.
It must be light enough for you to carry by yourself and small enough to fit completely on the front passenger seat of your car. Keeping the project small and manageable gives you the best chance of completing your transformation during the workshop and taking it home finished at the end of the day.
Please send me a photograph beforehand so that I can confirm that your piece is suitable.
Choosing your paint
You may choose from a selection of paint colours already open and available in the atelier at no additional cost.
If you would like to use a colour that is not currently open, you will need to purchase a pot on the day. Any paint remaining will be yours to take home.
Please let me know your preferred colour before the workshop so that I can make sure it is in stock.
All other materials needed during the workshop are included, including the use of brushes, primer, stencils, wax and varnish.
