Paint Inlays offer a distinctive way of working with surface and pattern. Unlike transfers or decoupage, the design is made from real paint, which becomes part of the surface once applied and lifted. The result is soft, painterly, and naturally varied, with depth and character that feels truly hand-worked.
In this four-hour workshop, you will explore how to use IOD Paint Inlays in a calm, unhurried way. The focus is on understanding the process, from placement and lifting to reuse, so results feel balanced and considered rather than forced or overly perfect.
Alongside working on smaller pieces, the workshop also helps you understand how the same techniques can be scaled up and applied confidently to furniture and larger decorative surfaces.
This workshop is suitable for all levels. It is ideal if you are curious about Paint Inlays and would like a clear, supportive introduction, or if you already have some experience and want to use them more confidently on furniture or decorative projects. No previous experience is required.
The workshop is structured step by step, with demonstrations followed by time to work on your own pieces at a comfortable pace. You will be guided throughout, with space to ask questions and adjust your work as you go. The atmosphere is relaxed and encouraging, allowing time to observe, experiment, and learn.
All materials are provided. You will work on two small decorative pieces during the workshop. The techniques taught are directly transferable to furniture and larger projects.
Bookings are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your place to a future date once, or gift your place to someone else. If the workshop is cancelled by Atelier Vintage Vert, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer.
